Kiki Smith with Mei-mei Berssenbrugge: Fog, 2009

A portfolio of 9 prints of polymer plate gravures on overbeaten abaca and 15 pages of poetry by Mei-mei Berssenbrugge on overbeaten abaca with silkscreened pigmented overbeaten cotton.

Each sheet 11 x 14 inches; 28 x 36 cm.

Edition of 15. Signed and numbered 5/15 on the front page by the artist and poet. Each sheet by Kiki Smith is also signed and numbered and dated on the back of each print.

In Fog, Smith and papermaker Anne McKeown printed the texts by silkscreening paper pulp mixed with pigment onto the handmade paper sheet rather than printing with traditional silkscreen ink. Thus the text became part of the handmade paper to create a misty look
